Privacy

Writing Clinic privacy

This page covers the free Writing Clinic Chrome extension and the public /mcp tool it calls — not learner accounts or the paid course, which don't have a published policy yet.

What we collect

The text you paste into the extension or send to /mcp — an email, a Slack message, a pitch, whatever you're asking Writing Clinic to critique. Sent over HTTPS to makeyourpoint.app/mcp.

What happens to it

Your text is forwarded to Anthropic's API to generate the diagnosis and rewrite, then returned to you. It is not written to a database — the endpoint doesn't require an account and keeps no record tying a submission to you. It is also not written to our application logs.

For how Anthropic itself handles data sent through its API, see Anthropic's own published terms — we don't make claims here about their retention or training policies, since that's theirs to state and can change independently of this page.

Rate limiting

We use your IP address briefly to cap free usage (20 requests per 24 hours). It's held in Redis only for that rolling window and isn't linked to any identity or stored longer than that.

Cookies and analytics

The extension itself sets no cookies and loads no analytics — it only talks to the /mcp endpoint directly from its background worker. Analytics tools like Google Analytics only run on pages of the marketing website you browse in your own browser, not inside the extension.
